Boat hire is inclusive of 2 permits. Our permits are generally issued from our office in Evanton, but for your convenience, we are able to invoice and issue our regular guests with permits electronically.

Availability & Bookings

Unfortunately no fishing is permitted on Loch Eye on Sundays, Thursdays and new for 2019, boats are no longer available for hire on Tuesdays either.

Electric Motor Hire

We offer limited hire of electric outboard motors with high capacity (125 Ah), deep cycle batteries. Motors and batteries must be collected from and returned to our office in Evanton. Our boat bookings can get very busy at times, particularly between mid-May and early-July, so advance booking is essential. Price for motor/battery hire is £15/day.

TroutQuest's Boats

We have two boats for hire on Loch Eye, both moored on the south side of the loch on Mounteagle Estate's jetty. They are 15ft fibreglass boats which have a shallow draft and 3 keels, meaning they are extremely stable, very safe, and can access the shallowest of water.

Each boat is secured to the jetty by 3 short ropes with carabiners, that can also be used to attach a drogue while fishing - for more information see our advice here.
